Cookie policy
Updated 5 October 2026.
This page explains the cookies and browser storage GigGuide uses and the choices you have. GigGuide (gigguide.com.au) is run by Rainbo Feela Pty Ltd (ABN 62 136 867 439).
How we use cookies
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser so it can remember things between pages and visits. Necessary cookies and storage are always on, because the site needs them to work. Analytics and advertising cookies are on by default, and you can switch them off at any time with the "Tracking choices" button at the bottom of every page. Switching them off doesn't stop you using any part of the site.
Necessary cookies and storage
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| XSRF-TOKEN (cookie) | Protects our forms | 7 days |
| gigguide_ | Keeps searching, filters and the Back button working | 7 days |
| gigguide_areas (cookie) | Remembers the places you choose | 12 months |
| gg_tracking_ | Remembers your tracking setting | 180 days |
| gigguide-tracking-consent-v1 (browser storage) | Remembers a tracking switch-off | 180 days |
| gigguide.saved (browser storage) | Keeps your saved gigs in your browser | Until you clear it |
| gigguide-results-return-v1 (tab storage) | Returns you to your place in search results | Until you close the tab |
Analytics cookies
Set by Google Analytics to measure how GigGuide is used. Google explains how it uses this information in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_4DD9EEBQC9 (cookies) | Let Google Analytics recognise your browser | Usually up to 2 years |
Advertising cookies
Used for Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google advertising measurement, under the "Meta advertising" setting. Meta may use what it receives to measure ads and to choose and show ads to you.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| _fbp, _fbc (cookies) | Let Meta recognise your browser and the ad you came from | 90 days |
| gclid, gbraid, wbraid (cookies) | Remember the Google ad you came from | 90 days |
Our random browser ID
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| gg_ad_client (cookie) | A random ID that links your tracking setting and your link clicks in our records, and is shared with Google Analytics | 90 days |
| gg_browser_ | Confirms that our website code ran for your random browser ID, to help keep automated link visits out of tracking counts | 1 hour |
The short-lived confirmation cookie is set when either analytics or advertising is on, and removed when you switch both off.
Other sites
Cloudflare, which delivers and protects our site, may set a short-lived security cookie if it sees unusual traffic. Its visit counter uses no cookies. Affiliate partners, ticket sellers, booking and accommodation sites, and the website of Bands Australia may set their own cookies once you follow a link, under their own policies.
Changing your mind
Press "Tracking choices" at the bottom of any page, untick a box and save, or choose "Reject optional tracking" to switch both off. We then stop that code and delete these cookies on our site: the _ga cookies for analytics, and _fbp, _fbc, gclid, gbraid and wbraid for advertising. Our random browser ID stays until it expires. A switch-off lasts 180 days, then tracking is on again unless you switch it off again.
Deleting cookies in your browser doesn't switch tracking off, and clearing GigGuide's browser storage forgets a switch-off. Blocking necessary cookies may stop forms and search working. We don't respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, so please use "Tracking choices" instead.
You can also use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, your Meta ad preferences, and the industry opt-out tools at optout.aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when we add or remove a cookie, and the date at the top shows when it last changed. See also our privacy policy, terms and conditions and About GigGuide. Questions go through our contact form.
